Projects Currently Funded by our Non-Profit
On-Going Partnership with
The Preserve, Thailand
The Preserve is a Thailand-based Not for Profit Non-Governmental organization that is dedicated to the same goals and principles as A Brighter Future Global. The Preserve is our eyes and hands in Thailand and they help us identify and support needs that are consistent with our mission. They also assist us with the follow-up to confirm that donations are being used in the way that we intend them to be used. Beginning in 2022 and continuing with currently ongoing projects, the Preserve has helped A Brighter Future Global achieve the following success stories:

-
in 2023, the Preserve facilitated a zero-interest loan for a housing project that has created 28 safe and affordable homes for Burmese workers who were either displaced or saw their rents more than double after the influx of refugees from the Russian/Ukrainian war. This project has been completed and we are currently fundraising to create even more safe and affordable homes.
-
The Preserve is currently researching the idea of creating a school to meet the needs of the Burmese families who are unable to send their kids to the local Thai schools (this is most of the Burmese families here and those who are allowed to send their kids to Thai schools are finding the learning environment in these schools difficult to impossible due to "cultural differences". We dream of sponsoring A Brighter Future School that accepts children of any culture who do not have access to public education.
-
Natural Resource Preservation: in 2023 Koh Phangan saw some of the worst drought conditions ever with the municipalities completely unable to provide a water supply for several months. Through The Preserve, A Brighter Future has provided grants to sustainability efforts to support rainwater harvesting systems to eliminate the need for municipal water or water from the aquifer.
-
The Preserve has worked with developers to encourage the designation of native growth protection areas and habitat protection and restoration.
-
Entrepreneurial grants are offered in support of businesses and homeowners wanting to install solar systems to reduce the need for coal-generated power
-
The Preserve has supported education programs that encourage sustainable practices and is always supportive of environmental protection programs.

There are always more projects as the work never seems to end - come help :)
2024 Update! The new housing project creating 28 new safe and sanitary homes for the Burmese workers is now complete and all homes have been filled. This means that thanks to your generous donations to A Brighter Future Global, 28 families can now trust that they can stay in a safe home without fear of increasing rents forcing them out on the streets. We are currently seeking for donations so we can help even more families.
Community Garden
Part of our permaculture farming effort, The Preserve is dedicated to providing agricultural land and support to members of the community who want to grow their own food and take control over their own health and food supply.

-
We have an agreement with the custodian of just over 9 rai ( a bit over 2.5 acres) to continually utilize this land for farming, composting, and education
-
We are working to set up a community garden that will allow any member of the community to utilize this land and our resources to grow food products that will support the community with a designated portion of all production being dedicated to low-income families in need of access to quality foods
-
We are restoring a previously operational bee farm to support Propolis, royal jelly, and other beneficial products from bee-keeping
-
Currently, we are growing papaya, mangosteen, banana, jackfruit, coconuts, mangoes and other food crops

We are always trying to learn more about the wild medicinal plants around us
Community Support & Education
We have a very diversified community on our island, which now includes many Burmese and Ukrainian refugees. We always aim to provide as much support, employment, and education as we can for these groups.

We also strive to change the local culture of single use plastic pollution, use of harmful herbicide and pesticide chemicals, and frequent burning plastic, styrofoam, and other toxic materials. To the end we aim to establish education programs in permaculture, foraging, recycling, and upcycling.

Eventfully we hope to establish a permanent education center at The Preserve, that will be open to children and adults from all of the island's communities.
